Managing Pest & Disease in Vegetables: WorldVeg’s Advanced Training in Tainan | 29 May – 6 June 2024

World Vegetable Center is organizing an Advanced Technical Training on Pests and Diseases between 29 May 2024 to 6 June 2024, at WorldVeg Headquarters, Tainan. It aims to equip seed company participants with comprehensive knowledge and hands-on skills on important pests and diseases of vegetables, focusing on disease diagnostics, screening, management, and integrated pest management (IPM). Participants will gain expertise in identifying and managing major diseases, viruses, viroids, bacteria, and insect pests affecting pepper, tomato, and brassica crops.
 

Training Objectives:

  • Increase knowledge: Gain an in-depth understanding of fungal, viral, viroid, and bacterial diseases and pests of tomato, pepper, and brassica crops.
  • Develop skills: Master practical techniques for disease and pest identification, isolation, resistance screening, and biocontrol assessment.
  • Implement strategies: Learn and apply integrated pest management (IPM) approaches for adequate crop protection.
  • Network and collaborate: Connect with fellow industry professionals and explore new technologies.

  • Dates: 29 May 2024 to 6 June 2024 (9 days)
  • Location: WorldVeg Headquarters, Tainan
  • Participants: Up to 24 participants, first come first served
  • Training fees: (Including meals, coffee breaks, access to diverse expert trainers, a field visit, and KHH airport or Tainan HSR pick-up/drop-off, exclude accommodation)
