ACIAR – Australian Center for International Agricultural Research
Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR) is a statutory authority that operates as a part of the Australian Government’s development Cooperation programme. The Centre encourages Australia’s agricultural scientists to use their skills for the benefit of developing countries and Australia. The mandate of ACIAR directs activities to developing countries in five regions: Papua New Guinea and the Pacific Islands, Southeast Asia, North Asia, South Asia and Southern Africa.

AfricaRice – Africa Rice center
The Africa Rice Center (AfricaRice), an autonomous intergovernmental research association of African member states is also one of the 15 international agricultural research Centers supported by the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR). WARDA works to contribute to poverty alleviation and food security in Africa, through research, development and partnership activities aimed at increasing the productivity and profitability of the rice sector in ways that ensure the sustainability of the farming environment.

The Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Technische Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is an international cooperation enterprise for sustainable development with worldwide operations with more than 130 partner countries supporting 2700-development project and programmes.

HarvestPlus
HarvestPlus through global alliance of research institutions and implementing agencies and coordinated by CIAT and IFPRI seeks to reduce the effects of micronutrient malnutrition by harnessing the power of plant breeding to develop staple food crops that are rich in micronutrients.

ICGEB – International Centre For Genetic Improvement And Biotechnology
An international organization dedicated to advanced research and training in molecular biology and biotechnology, with special regard to the needs of the developing world.

ICRISAT – International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics
International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT), a non-profit, apolitical, international organization is one of the 15 research centers under the auspices of CGIAR devoted to sciencebased agricultural development. It aims to help developing countries in the semi-arid tropics increase farm productivity and food security, reduce poverty, and protect the environment through optimum use of the natural resource endowment.

IDRC – International Development Research Centre
International Development Research Centre (IDRC) is a Canadian public corporation that works in close collaboration with researchers from the developing world in their search for the means to build healthier, more equitable, and more prosperous societies.

IFPRI – International Food Policy Research Institute
The International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI), is one of 15 food and environmental research organizations known as the Future Harvest centers. The centers located around the world, conduct research in partnership with farmers, scientists, and policymakers to help alleviate poverty and increase food security while protecting the natural resource base. It thus identifies and analyzes policies for sustainably meeting the food needs of the developing world. They are principally funded through the 58 countries, private foundations, and regional and international organizations that make up the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR).

IITA – International Institute of Tropical Agriculture
The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), works towards enhancing the food security, income and well-being of resource-poor people in sub-Saharan Africa by conducting research and related activities to increase agricultural production, improve food systems, and sustainably manage natural resources, in partnership with national and international stakeholders.

ILRI – International Livestock Research Institute
The International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) works at the crossroads of livestock and poverty, bringing high-quality science and capacity-building to bear on poverty reduction and sustainable development for poor livestock keepers and their communities. It works in partnerships and alliances with other organizations, national and international, in livestock research, training and information. ILRI works in all tropical-developing regions of Africa, Asia and Latin America and the Caribbean.

IRRI – International Rice Research Institute

ISAAA – International Service for the Acquisition of Agri-biotech Applications
The International Service for the Acquisition of Agri-biotech Applications (ISAAA), a not-for-profit international network with in developing and industrialized countries delivers the benefits of new agricultural biotechnologies to the poor in developing countries.

OECD – Organisation for Economics Co-operation and Development
The Organisation for Economics Co-operation and Development (OECD) with 30 member countries and active relationships with some 70 other countries, NGOs and civil society has a global reach. Best known for its publications and its statistics, its work covers economic and social issues from macroeconomics, to trade, education, development and science and innovation.

SIDA – Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency
The Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA), is a government agency that reports to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and is responsible for most of Sweden’s contributions to International development cooperation. It aims to improve the standards of living of poor and people and in the long term, to eradicate poverty.

USDA – United States Department of Agriculture
The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) finds solutions to agricultural problems that affect Americans every day, from field to table. It works towards solutions by pursuing scientific discoveries and transfer discoveries to society as useful technology and knowledge. The scientists here frequently collaborate with research partners from universities, companies, other organizations and other countries.

WTO – World Trade Organization
The World Trade Organization (WTO) is the only global international organization dealing with the rules of trade between nations. At its heart are the WTO agreements, negotiated and signed by the bulk of the world’s trading nations and ratified in their parliaments. The goal is to help producers of goods and services, exporters, and importers conduct their business.
