Did you know that 2023 has been designated as the “International Year of Millets”?

● In commemoration of this significant occasion, we are pleased to announce a hybrid seminar centered around the theme of millets:

This seminar aims to highlight the untapped potential of millets in addressing global challenges, particularly those related to nutrition, agriculture, and climate change. By exploring the climate resilience and nutritional benefits of millets, we aim to raise awareness of their critical role in addressing these pressing issues. Join us to explore the multiple benefits of millets during this engaging event.

■ New Technologies and Research Outputs

At JIRCAS, our research extends beyond the major cereal crops to include minor cereals and other grass crops.  In this issue, we introduce our research results focusing on these lesser-known crops, which are featured in the JIRCAS Research Highlights 2022.
